Dr Apsara Windsor is committed to providing personalised patient care and brings a holistic, evidence-based approach to her practice.


Dr Apsara Windsor is an experienced senior radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Gosford. She completed her Bachelor of Science (Medicine) and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of New South Wales. Dr Windsor subsequently commenced specialist radiation oncology training at Prince of Wales, Westmead, Nepean and Liverpool Hospitals in Sydney. She undertook a 12-month research fellowship at the Liverpool Hospital and in 2011 became a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR).

Dr Windsor has served the Central Coast community for over 10 years as a leading radiation oncology specialist in breast and gastrointestinal cancers. Her past appointments include Head of Department of Radiation Oncology at the Central Coast Cancer Centre, Gosford Hospital. She was also the founder of the Breast Interest Group – Faculty of Radiation Oncology. Dr Windsor is currently a member of numerous expert advisory groups, shaping the evidence-based practice guidelines in radiation oncology at a state level.

Dr Windsor is actively involved in research, clinical governance, quality improvement, education and community engagement. Beyond her clinical work, her main passion is education, training and mentorship. Dr Windsor is the current Chairperson for the Faculty of Radiation Oncology, RANZCR Phase I exam panel, leading the specialist exams for Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. In the field of radiation oncology, she has held numerous positions within RANZCR, including the National Phase 1 lead, National Phase 2 lead, member of the Education and Training Committee, Training Resource Executive, Assessment Executive and the chair of the Training, Resources, Education and Assessment Team. She was instrumental in developing and implementing many state and national educational programs in radiation oncology. She is committed to delivering medical education in her role as senior lecturer at the University of Newcastle and has played an integral role in establishing the oncology medical student training program at Gosford Hospital.
